Home Again!!!

After 15 days in the hospital, yesterday's homecoming was a joyful event!!  David enjoyed eating some lovely spaghetti that our good friend, Jane, had brought in to us, & he had the best night sleep that he has had since before his hospitalization -- yay!!

We are still getting ourselves organized into a new routine as there is much to accomplish every day as we work our way toward getting David fully recovered from the sepsis & fluid overload.  Besides all of his medications, there is daily care required for his cholecystostomy tube & foley catheter.  Then there are our daily trips to the infusion center for him to receive the IV antibiotics (today the trip was made in one of the biggest rainstorms we have had in our 30 years of living here!).  Tomorrow David will be seen in the urology clinic for a flow study -- we are hoping he will be able to void his bladder adequately so he can have the foley catheter permanently removed -- fingers crossed!

Brother Carl is currently with us -- he wanted to make sure that David's transition from hospital to home went smoothly.  Mom Hager & sister, Mary, arrived yesterday for a previously scheduled visit, so David is being surrounded by lots of family love!  And, our local friends are making sure we don't go hungry -- they have signed up for bringing us in dinner every night -- so extremely kind & generous!!

Will try to continue to keep you all posted on David's progress every couple of days.  Thanks for your comments on this blog, texts, & phone calls -- we appreciate your caring support & love!!

Hugs, Janet
