I had the pleasure of meeting with Dave and Janet today, catching up on his amazing progress and hearing in his voice a more determined, focused fighter than ever.  His chemoradiation is almost over !!!!! and he is still teaching Torrey Pines who is boss.  For those of you who live out of town, TP is a long steep hill that puts most healthy folks in their place.  Not Dave. I'm honestly not quite sure how he is staying so strong given the intense treatment he is handed each day.  I am so proud to be his friend and truly hopeful for Dave to continue to remind Goliath that it was David who won the final battle.  Oh yes he did! 
So here's the scoop... Dave is a hugger.  In fact, under Webster's definition of hug, there is a photo of Dave Hager.  But, while he is aching to give each and every person in his life a bear hug, he is also wisely concerned about avoiding germs while his immune system is suppressed by chemo and radiation.  For any of you who will join us in the Pancreatic Cancer walk on the 13th, he will be wearing a mask at the race, as will Janet so she stays healthy too. They are requesting that instead of hugging Dave, you give Janet your affection, while Dave will stand close by, itching to be on the receiving end when he is healthier.  And when Dave Hager has fought the battle and won, he will be dealing out hugs galore, you can be sure!  Hope to see many of you on the 13th!!    Jane
