Jane and I just had coffee with Dave in Cardiff today...he looks fantastic! Turns out he has about 3 weeks to go on radiation, which is exciting news. After that, a month off of everything to let the body rebuild a bit. Hopefully the CT scan will give the green light to move forward with surgery in November!
Last week was a bit rough in terms of side effects (nausea, fatigue), as Jane indicated the combo of the chemo pills and radiation are tough to endure. But Dave, as always, is taking it like a champ. Dave and Janet have been researching extensively so they can be fully prepared for what's to come. Both Janet and Jane have been amazing advocates in getting Dave consultations with the top specialists in the world. Way to go ladies!
It's really amazing how Dave is able to endure all of this and still be so strong. He gives us a quick update but then wants to forget it and hear what's going on in all our lives. All the while he's still got his beaming smile, as he enjoys every fun moment we have to share. He's probably the most selfless guy I know...
