Chemo Treatment #5 Completed

Just as we had anticipated, with a week off for recovery, David's WBC count had returned to normal & he was able to receive his 5th treatment today.  So, that leaves him with four more treatments to go before this course is complete.  Today & tomorrow will be down days for David -- he just generally feels poorly for a couple of days post chemo.  He is currently lying on the floor (with a kitty curled up next to him!) in a patch of sun that is streaming through a window, covered by a blanket that was his father's, listening to music that was sent to him by our niece, Mackenzie -- all comforts for him! 

We have tried to give ourselves something positive to focus on once these chemo treatments are done -- a summer spent in Colorado.  To that focus, we have begun lining up projects that we would like to have completed before we arrive.  Our cabin needs to be sanded & stained, so we have set the wheels in motion for that to get done.  Our yard will need to be mowed & the planters & gravel driveway weeded, so we have also contacted someone about that project.  My goal is to get the place looking ship shape so that when we pull up in the driveway, David won't see a whole lot of work that needs to be done.  I am hoping that this summer will be filled with joy, fun, & friends/family -- a time to truly recover & reflect on how far we have come as well as a time to hope for the future, but most definitely a time to completely enjoy the present!! 

Hope you all had a fun St. Patrick's day!  The only green that David has in his wardrobe is an olive drab green, but he wore it yesterday to avoid being pinched by anyone!
